The Clam Trees are in Full Bloom at low tide during the annual planting in the spring time.

The Tide Waits For No One

Rock Harbor - Cape Cod

Every year in the spring time, the 'Clam Trees' are planted for the upcoming summer season. The clam trees are actually channel markers at Rock Harbor in Orleans on Cape Cod for the sport fishing fleet. People come from all over the world to see the spectacular sunsets at Rock Harbor. This is a tidal harbor which simply means the tide changes daily, low-high, making it impossible to leave or enter the harbor by boat during low tide. This skiff is waitng for the tide to turn. so it can leave the harbor. One of my favorite expressions, The Tide Waits For No One! Photo ©Marcia Joy Duggan
